Winter Wonderland 2008
Well, we've had quite a storm come through this weekend. We had a couple inches
of snow on 12/14 however on 12/20 we had 7 inches then had about 1/2 inch of
freezing rain and so far another 1-2 inches of snow on top of that. It's been an
interesting weekend to say the least. Below are some pictures as well as a video.
These pictures give you an idea of the amount of snow we received
in less than 24 hours. The 1st picture was taken on Sat. morning,
the 2nd on Sat. night and the last on Sun. morning. The final picture
is of a tree in our backyard with the ice on it from the freezing rain.
This is our front yard on Sun. morning. The bush is a Japanese maple, which loses its
leaves during the winter so it was just the branches that were covered in ice.
Kaitlyn had fun breaking through the
ice. She kept picking up these huge
pieces to show us.
Kaitlyn and Sammy both enjoyed playing in and eating the ice
together in our backyard.
Here are some scenic pictures as well as Kaitlyn's first solo sled ride from Monday. We got another 5
inches of snow overnight and into the morning giving us a 3 day total on the ground of 12 inches.
That's not normal for this area. 1-2 inches is considered normal. It has definitely been a big deal.
These are three birdhouses that are in
one of our neighbors yard.
We have a nice greenspace that backs
up to our neighborhood. We decided
to take a walk down there to see how
the pond was faring.
This is our house with a close up of the
bushes in front.
These are pictures of our street in
both directions.

neighbors yard.
This is the only icicle that we had on
our house. It's outside our bedroom
window. It reaches from the gutter
about 3/4 of the way down the window.
This is Kaitlyn's first solo sled ride. She
did really good. Made it all the way
down without falling over. She loves
sledding, that's for sure.
This is a little video of Kaitlyn and Sammy
enjoying the snow on Sunday.
